XE S black Cherry full spec

Finally took delivery of the new growler last weekend, a few snagging issues to sort out - condensation in front lights not disappearing when your out driving, annoying rattle under the gear console at certain speeds and a wire loom under the bonnet (lhs) which looks as though its been put together with cheap insulating tape. Car going in to dealer in a coupe of weeks - getting an F-Type all wheel drive V8S convertible to play with

The day was quite dull so you don't get the full effect of the black cherry I'm afraid - better weather may allow me to get a decent picture - the colour is amazing close up in the sun..

On a quick other note - no dipstick so there must be an electronic way to check - manual is confusing on how this is done - switch on ignition (start stop button) without foot on brake and then use Menu to scroll to get the oil level after waiting 5-10 mins when engine was up to temp then switched off??

It's beautiful sunny day or not.
Most new releases usually has a few bugs they need to work out and the first owners are like beta testers. At least you'll get to drive around in a V8S convertible. How's the driving experience in your new XE?

I think you have to wait a few minutes fort he car to warm up and give the electronics a chance to check everything before checking via the menu? No idea.

Does the door have a led light that shines onto the ground?

Driving and Niggles

thanks for the comments - will check with the dealer as I still can't find the oil level indicator on the menu even after warming up the car - the manual says engine off and ignition on?. As you say the few niggles are not too bad and hopefully will be sorted at the end of the month. I must say this is one of the best cars I have ever driven (I've had a few goods ones - the last car was an Audi TTRS), the chassis is well sorted and the feel from the steering is good and has pretty good feedback for an electronic system, much better than the 340I BMW which is scary in wet corners.

I do wish the crackles and pops were still there as in the F-Type-S but the sound when you get up the rev range is intoxicating - you just want to have it in dynamic and S mode all the time- - I replace the paddles with the Red Aluminium ones which are far nicer and abit easier to find with your fingers. Was hooning around a few local back roads the other day and it was just the best thing I've experienced. The inside quality is not that of the Merc but to be honest its still fells expensive, but the drive is the thing - point to point I would give an M4 a good run for its money!

As for the door light shining down on the ground - you know I've never noticed if it does. I have the ambient lighting pack so the whole inside of the car lights up in a choice of 10 different colours, when you put it into S mode everything glows red inside

The door sills always stay Illuminated blue but you only see them when you open the doors. The Heads Up display is great - especially when the sat nav is on.

Great to hear to you're enjoying your new ride! Never had paddle shifters so I'll most likely get frustrated in the initial learning stage when I mistake it for the windshield wipers.

Was asking about the puddle lights because you can do this if it wasn't included in your lighting pack.

May as well go all the way if you're riding around in an exceptional car.

That rear end in black might get BMW, Audi and MB owners that are stopped behind you to visit the local Jaguar dealer...

BMWs are a dime a dozen but Jaguars are not as common and that feel of exclusivity will turn heads. And lets face it, the XE looks hot especially with the red calipers.

Any plans for it or are you leaving it stock?

That's actually a good point and due to how cookie cutter their designs are... its bound to make any mainstream models they have not all that special.
