Good move on their part, Jaguar wants volume models and going for these growing CUV and SUV segments with real buyer volume should make tapping into them set the stage for Jag.

After a big gap of no supercar, its good to see they're back in action.

That seems to be the case with a lot of vehicles, 10-20 of them on the same platform and it makes sense, no need to go back to the drawing board for a new vehicle that shares a lot with what's out and what was out.

which leads me to believe we'll see the XE's platform used for some future Jag, just not sure what.

I don't think that companies make platforms unless they can be used for multiple vehicles. It just makes too much sense from a business standpoint. Not sure what the XE's platform would be used for next though. Jag seems to be concentrating on SUVs right now.

that's what i have observed and it makes sense, no need go to all unique on each vehicle, any way to cut overhead costs is a win.
