Took the plunge a few days ago and ordered an XE S (still no test drive but from what I've seen so far do I need one?), spec below, should look awesome. Looking to get behind the wheel in a month or so as my order is for delivery on the 1st of September (5 months is a long time to twiddle my thumbs), still have the Audi TTRS to play with.

Black Cherry
Venom 19" black wheels
Privacy Glass and Black Pack Plus
Panoramic Glass Sunroof
Advanced Parking Assistance with Proximity Camera
Head-up display
Jet/Red Taurus Grain Leather and Suede cloth
Heated seats - 14 way electric
Ambient Lighting
Illuminated Door Sills
Red Aluminium Gearshift Paddles
Lighting Pack
Memory Pack
Highway Technology Pack
Meridian Sound system

Thanks..

Thanks for the welcome. I've been pondering buying an XE for at least a year now ever since I first became aware that Jaguar were finally going to properly enter the mid-range sports saloon battle that is Audi/BMW/Mercedes. I think they are onto a winner.

My only concern at this time is the Media issue particularly the fact that it does not have a CD player - I like my 24Bit and WAV and MP3 don't in my opinion cut it when it comes to having £1800 pounds of Meridian sound kit. I did hear you could simply copy tracks straight from the CD onto a Flash card and either play them from there or download onto the cars HDD - do you or anyone in the forum know if this is true - being a newbee to the site I probably should put this out to a different site stream?

The XE supports streaming via BlueTooth... but I guess that quality isn't up to your standards?

Every time I see a car specced like yours, I get a little bit jealous... the car pricing (and taxing) in the Netherlands don't allow me to spec it like I would love...

Even the standard configurations are stripped just to make the models a little bit more accessible for us... For example, the InControl apps stuff is an option...

Can't wait to see pics of your XE-S when its delivered.

Yeah I suppose the different taxing laws have a great bearing on what's affordable. I'll be updating the forum when I get the car and show you it in all its glory.

As for the music side I still don't really know, I can stream via Bluetooth as you suggest and the dealer tells me the system will handle .wav, .mp3, I guess I'll have to get my audio conversion software out and do some lossless conversion and see what happens. I do like my sounds in the car. If the XE S came with active exhaust who would need any other soundtrack than that- will probably have to wait till the SVR version comes out.

Hi Tom,

welcome to the side and the specs of your car looking indeed awesome !!

I could put me beside Marc's comment as also coming from the Netherlands such is car is quite expensive overhere. I ordered the 164HP Diesel but really would ordered the leather interior as the XE S being red on the outside and black suede on the inside.
unfortunately this is only for the S version so I went for the opposite (black on the outside and red in the inside). Re the CD player I also missed that one and indeed according to my dealer no player could be ordered but checking the leaflet once again I noticed that the standaard version (pure) has a CD -Player and the versions thereafter are all a pure version ++ .
So beside the fog lights it's also a bit unclear or we have a CD player yes or
not....??

btw what's the black package plus as we could only ordered the 'standard' black package ?

Hey Barry,

My digital pricelist doesn't mention this...

Strange, my brochure from January

See thumbnail, not mentioning the CD...

But I don't have my printed brochure at home, so that may be different. Jaguar has changed the specs several times in the brochures and on the site during the last months.

Hope they more consistent in building the new XE ? .
Frankly speaking I never seen a car company who introduced a new car in such a advance as the Jaguar XE !
JLR is delivering the new Disco Sport much faster. But now people are being told that delivery of the Discos with Ingenium (ED4) engines are pushed back from september 2015 towards begin 2016...

So, let's just hope our deliveries are still on time... and the past few months since september are just some good foreplay :)

Congratulations I can't wait to finally see XE S's start showing up on here.

I just had the cd player removed from my car because it's location in the glove box was not practical to use while driving and it took up to much glove box room.
Been using a 32 SD card anyways..

Hello,
This is my first post having just registered. By way of a quick introduction I have been a Jaguar owner (apart from 1 Lexus) for close on twenty years having had XJ's S-Type's and currently an XF S Portfolio which I took delivery in Nov '10.
I am in the early stages of considering a change and am looking at the XES, having spent plenty of time on the configurator!!!
My question, I was under the impression that Adaptive Dynamics is standard on this model, or is it only available with the Black Pack plus?
Regards
Keith

Welcome.
Glad to have a loyal Jaguar owner on the forum. What year and model of Lexus did you own?
