Jaguar builds up for the launch of the new XE saloon by releasing fresh images

Jaguar has released a new image of its upcoming XE saloon as the manufacturer prepares for the launch of one of its most significant cars in recent years. The new XE will be unveiled to the public on 8 September and wade into a battleground currently dominated by the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class.
The new image of the XE is the first official photograph of the saloon, as opposed to the digital illustration previously released by Jaguar. Shown in S trim, a deep front bumper with three wide air intakes gives a more dominant road presence, while the front grille is a familiar feature – also seen on the larger XJ – which is flanked by two narrow but angular headlights.
As part of the build up to the launch of the XE, Jaguar has enlisted the help of celebrities such as pop star Emeli Sande, actor Idris Elba and fashion designer Stella McCartney. All will have some involvement with the mid-size premium saloon at launch, with Emeli Sande currently writing a 'FEEL XE' song which will be performed at the unveiling.
We already know Jaguar has developed a lightweight aluminium construction to help cut weight in the XE. Added to that is a batch of new and advanced Ingenium engines, all of which have allowed Jaguar to squeeze out up to 75mpg from the XE.

YES! Great post @rawcpoppa

It looks even better than the rendered shot they released a few months back, the headlamps have changed slightly but in a good way...

Also notice it seems to be the S model, which would indicate the V6 supercharged underhood no?

I see a bit of the 3 series in the front end, but nothing overt, if anything they took the "look" one further...

what's so similar about them?
I still don't get it,
explain what you see that's similar.
I think they are pretty similar. If you change out the grille, they would be very very similar. Only other difference is that the headlights on the BMW connect with the grille.
