Automatic crash notification is an awesome feature, one that in some cases do save lives.
Connected cars are great to an extent, but at the same time make people more likely to get into accidents due to all the distractions.

I think that the navigation and the accident alerts are the best features. Most of the rest are more for entertainment than they are for actual driving function or safety. It would be so nice to be told of accidents before you get into some huge traffic jam. Sign me up for that!

i hate getting onto a highways express lanes only to find out moments after that there's a horrible accident that slows everything down like crazy, leaving you with a while to go before getting a chance to merge off. hate it.

There aspects of the technology that will be very nice to have and other parts that seem like over kill: telling you things you don't need to know or could find out easily if you just pay attention. Really this is just a transition period to autonomous cars though. All this tech will combine to make cars that drive us around instead of cars that we drive around.

It's a good move for the masses that don't care too much about the driving experience but more so about commuting too and from where they have to go.

Did you hear that Audi says it will have a fully automated car by 2018? Isn't that crazy? I thought it would take much longer. The next gen A8.
