The Green Car Awards for 2015 have been announced. Oddly enough there are a number of diesel engines on the list. This is likely due to the fact that European legislation is focused on CO2 emissions as a measuring tool.

Here are the winners for each of the categories. Notice that the Jaguar XE 2.0d won the Executive (mid-sized sedan) Award.

Citycar Award - Fiat 500 0.9 TwinAir - CO2 90 g/km
Supermini Award - Peugeot 208 1.6 BlueHDi - CO2 79 g/km
Small Family Award - Nissan Leaf 30kWh EV - CO2 0 g/km
Large Family Award - Volkswagen Passat GTE - CO2 39 g/km
Estate (station wagon) Award - BMW 3-Series Touring 320d ED Plus - CO2 104 g/km
MPV (minivan) Award - Ford C-MAX 1.5 TDCi - CO2 105 g/km
Crossover Award - Renault Kadjar 1.5 dCi - CO2 99 g/km
SUV Award - Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV - CO2 42 g/km
