Jaguar XE 4 Cylinder Engine Options

So Jaguar is touting its new range of 'Ingenium' engines being codeved with sister company Land Rover. Jaguar describes them as a new family of premium, lightweight, low-friction, low-emission four cylinder petrol and diesel powerplants.

Personally I wonder if these engines in fact have their roots in Fords 2.0L EcoBoost engine. The reason for the speculation is that new for 2013 both the XJ and XF received EcoBoost power sourced from Ford. In the XF and XJ the EcoBoost makes a healthy 241 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Besides the XJ and XF Land Rover also makes use of Fords little 2.0 in the Evoque and Freelander 2.

Now Jaguar has said that they have high performance 4 cylinders planned that can reach all the way to 400 bhp, so I don't doubt that they have their own tricks up their sleeves, but I do imagine that at least the bottom of the range will be motivated by the lower cost 2.0L Ecoboost engine.

isn't this the same 4 cylinder we will end up seeing in the f type?
Thanks for letting me know, since the f-type is switching over do you know if those other jaguar vehicles will also be ridding of their ford engines for this new engine?
