Jaguar XE at the Nurburgring

These are shots from August '13 but still signiifcant nonetheless. Jaguar does have a test and development facility up in Germany's Eiffel mountains, home to the Nurburgring.

This spy shot shows the XE wearing chopped XF body over its aluminium iQ architecture.

Looks a bit odd with the panels all over the place and the wheels could use at least another inch of offset. I guess this will all be fixed once it comes in its final form.

we've got a fresh batch of shots from the Nurburgring now, and the XE is wearing its own skin this time not a repurposed XF.... oh its internal code name is X760, so that may turn up something fruitful...

Things make a whole lot more sense when it is wearing its own body panels. Do you think that the XE will keep the headlights that are on the first spy shots in this thread. They look nice.
sounds great. thanks for sharing. suspension seems to give on dips and the front lip scrapes
I hope they keep the same headlight setup, the overall design and what it seems to features looks great.
If you read the OP it clearly states that the blck jag is just a mule, a XE wearing an XF skin. Nothing visually about the black car is relevant to the XE. The camoed car is fully the XE...
That's good in a way, I would prefer the headlight setup seen in the banner of this forum:

maybe they shouldnt have put the camo stickers on

kind of gives it away
the camo is a subtle form of marketing. Get the blogs to build the buzz for you instead of pouring dollars into advertising. ITs basically a giant billboard screaming look at me, but don't you touch.

Its like cleavage ;)

The one from the banner is the lone teaser Jaguar has put out, so yea expect that...

The headlights in the spy shot are completely covered by the camo though, and multiple cars by the same brand could have the same headlights, so I don't think it was crazy to ask if the headlights would carry over. Are the headlights that are in the picture in the banner the ones the XE will get for sure, or is that just a render?
It could also be possible that this is some hardcore test mule that wont have many thing we see make it's way to production
Well I am a fan of the LED lighting that lines the bottom of the headlights in the banner picture. Hopefully they will do something like that for the XE. The F-Type has it.

everything so far seems to show a similar DRL design
I sure hope they do include it, ideally it should be part of their design language that they use on almost every vehicle they sell, like their signature feature.
The exterior of the XE will share nothing (apart from grill shape (size will be smaller)) with any other Jaguar model, the interior will share common componants, like steering wheel, pop up gear lever etc, it will have its own "circus act", like the rising section on the F-Type, or spinning vents in the XF, it will also feature the brand new nav system, and computer set up, now they have seen enough issues with current set ups.

Indeed, but I think what is being argued is that the new feature shown on the F type, the lower trailing edge thin strip of LED will also show up on the XE. Jags own teaser shows it. I like it, quite aggressive to Audis oddly trimmed eyebrows.
love the DRL strip on the F-Type

at night its very recognizable
does anyone know if the DRL strip doubles as indicators like on the Audis?

NVM, found it...

not as pretty anymore ;) unless thats simply an amber reflector...
