WHAT’S DRIVING XE?
The new Jaguar XE model combines lightweight construction and sophisticated chassis technology to deliver outstanding driving dynamics and incredible handling.

Built around an all-new, aluminum-intensive architecture, the Jaguar XE offers powerful performance and highly responsive steering, which makes driving it nothing short of exhilarating.

The exceptional driving dynamics of the XE are delivered by a number of innovative engineering technologies.

DRIVING DYNAMICS

Integral Link Rear Suspension
The Integral Link rear suspension delivers major benefits over conventional multi-link designs. By providing lateral and longitudinal stiffness, the Integral Link delivers sharp response and handling while retaining a refined, luxurious ride. Many components of the Integral Link suspension are made from forged or hollow-cast aluminum.

Front Suspension
Mounted to a subframe with cast aluminum suspension towers, the double wishbone design gives high standards of handling and steering. The advanced design is based on the F-TYPE sports car. This design ensures the XE enjoys a similar level of agility and ‘connected’ steering feel. Like the rear suspension, components are made from cast and forged aluminum.

New Electric Power Assisted Steering
The XE model is the first Jaguar vehicle to be equipped with the latest generation Electric Power Assisted Steering, which allows a much greater scope for tuning than hydraulic-based systems. Benefits include excellent steering feel, variable steering damping, ease of low-speed maneuvering and the ability to adapt to Jaguar Drive Control settings4

All Surface Progress Control
Even with the best traction control, rear-wheel drive cars can experience a sub-optimal start on very slippery surfaces. Developed from decades of Jaguar Land Rover experience in off-road traction systems, All Surface Progress Control is designed to electronically modulate traction with greater precision than a human driver can achieve4.

ALUMINUM: THE SECRET BEHIND XE
Designed around our new modular vehicle architecture, capable of delivering a wider range of design demands than ever before, the Jaguar XE features an aluminum-intensive unibody, with aluminum accounting for 75 percent of the body shell.

And it’s not just any aluminum. For this milestone in body engineering we developed a new grade of high-strength aluminum alloy; the result of fifty years of experience in aluminum car construction. With it, the XE ensures a winning combination of outstanding design and benchmark levels of ride and handling.

ALUMINUM ARCHITECTURE

High Torsional Stiffness
RC5754 is a state-of-the-art alloy that helps to deliver extremely high levels of torsional stiffness which gives the Jaguar XE exceptional vehicle dynamics, agile handling and steering response.

Stunning Design
The new Advanced Aluminum Architecture has opened up a world of opportunities in shaping aluminum. Its beautiful form is the product of 12,000 computational fluid dynamics simulations and more than 8 million hours of processor time.

Reduced Carbon Footprint
The lightweight, aerodynamic form of the Jaguar XE contributes to increased fuel efficiency and lower emissions on the combined cycle of over 75mpg*. Also, its chassis is made of our aluminum alloy RC5754, which is predominantly recycled material, reducing the Jaguar XE carbon footprint and putting Jaguar on track for a sustainability goal of using 75% recycled material by 2020.

*Current projection, subject to official tests and certification.
