combine that with what other vehicles in it's segment are going for and it could be possible that a pricing close to what the real deal will be will come out of that

I would guess that they price it slightly above. Just to make it seem more exclusive.

but it depends which one they go head to head with

they could go head to head with the 335i to START

not sure if jaguar wnats the 328i customers..
those clients probably wouldnt get a jaguar anyways

In the US the XF 2.0T starts at $46,975 and in Canada it starts at $53,500

so similar to that...

Jag says they wont be the price leader in segement, they aim to position the XE as a cut above the incumbents. Its going to take a stellar campaign to talk all the ghastly people out of their teutonic trinkets

Yes, they were, they were always known for there competitive pricing in the UK, when you compared like for like the Jags always came out best.

And thus cut their own throats, the XF is keenly priced, the XJ too, the XE will also have to be keenly priced, otherwise why bother, the XF and XJ cant really go much higher in price for the base models, and the XE will need to be a few grand cheaper than the base XF, otherwise why bother buying an XE when you can get an XF for a few quid more. as XF's can now be had for about £27k with discounts, the XE will need to be below this.

logical, however the few saved on a cheaper XE can be poured into pricier kit...

i wouldnt be too worried, they do price their stuff high but usually it's within a range thats appropriate and inline with the competition
