Jaguar XE UK Orders Surpassing Expectations

With the Jaguar XE heading into UK customers' driveways next month, JLR is already boasting that they are seeing "unprecedented customer interest." XE orders are ahead of target according to JLR, and that news combines with excellent April sales ahead of the XE's release to make the folks at JLR very happy.

Jaguar Land Rover enjoyed breaking a sales record in April, selling 37,286 vehicles. This breaks down to Land Rover with 31,938 units sold, and Jaguar with 5,348 units sold. Just think, these numbers don't include the XE yet! Also to come this year are the XF and the F-Pace crossover, the latter of which is entering one of the hottest segments in the market right now.

Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director had this to say:
"The icing on the cake is that the XE has just been awarded a five-star rating from Autocar and has also received its first UK honour, named Best Large Car in the 2015 Diesel Car Magazine Awards for its beautiful looks, competitive pricing and thrilling driving experience."
All these accolades and record breaking sales are topped off with the beginning of XE production at the brand's factory in Solihull.

JLR has been chasing after BMW with its push of new models, and despite gains, they are still trailing far behind. BMW sold 175,972 vehicles in April which is a record breaking sales month for the brand.

The question is, how close can JLR get as the XE, XF and F-Pace come online and bolster its overall sales numbers?

Not entirely surprised. Ever since this was seen its been getting a boat load of interest from all around, even on this forum that was noticeable.
Now to see for how long they can keep up the momentum.
With these rave reviews, it's definitely not surprising. I kind of wanted a bit of exclusivity, but I suppose it's good for the brand to be selling more.

Jaguar isn't looking to make the XE exclusive. It doesn't want to dip below $30k, but they want to sell as much volume as possible.

More cars sold = more money = more capital to invest in more exciting models.

Your only exclusivity is when these start hitting the road, months down the road that will go away, these will be common enough.
True, that exclusive feeling will be had for the early adopters. Once you get down the road 6 months to a year, I am guessing it won't seem nearly as exclusive any more. Still likely more unique than a comparable German luxury vehicle.
