These two are very similar. If you discount the grille, the differences are fairly minimal. I do think that the interior of the XE is nicer than the BMW though. I've never been a fan of BMW interiors.

I love how the jaguar looks.
BMW isn't the greatest when it comes to styling with some of their cars.

One of the only BMW's that has design which I can honestly say is amazing is the 6 series gran coupe.

Considering it's going to be 2+ years before we see this car in the US, I think comparing it to any other cars is pretty premature. Anything that's out now has a good chance of being revised or replaced by the time the XE arrives.

2+ years? Says who? The F30 still has not gotten its customary mid cycle update which means the bodystyle will in fact be relevant for at least another 3-4 years...

weight and dimension dichotomy...

The wheelbase of the XE is 2.5 cm longer than the 3 Series, the XE is also just four more inches wider than the 3 Series and measures 1.5 inches less in height.

Although the Jaguar XE has 75 percent exceptionally high aluminum content, the weight difference is not significant. The only model that seems to be quite lighter than a 3 Series is the high-end Jaguar XE S, with its 340 hp V6 gasoline engine, which measures 1474 kg compared to the 1585 kg for the BMW 335i.

3 series under threat! http://www.bmwblog.com/2015/06/12/bmw-3-series-is-more-threatened-than-ever/

his might be a bit of a spoiler, but the folks over at Motor Trend seemed to like the new Jag just a bit more than the Bimmer, claiming it to feel just a little bit sportier of the two. Now, in fairness, they did mention that the Bimmer was aging a bit compared to the fresh-out-of-the-box Jag and that a refreshed LCI version was coming soon to give the XE S a more fair fight. However, they still felt that this Jag was the better sport sedan of the two.

Small exhausts?

Hey guys,

maybe a stupid question. But what are the 2 small exhausts on the right side of the Jag for? This is the first time I see the car with 2 main exhausts on the left, and 2 smaller ones on the right.

Regards,

Alien

Wow, I had not noticed that! Maybe the Jaguar Customer Care representative on the forum will know the answer?
