The first thing that I think of is how Jaguars were notorious for having so many problems in the '60s. Whatever they were doing on that assembly line, it wasn't making reliable cars that don't experience issues.
I think that things have changed a lot because of Tata buying Jaguar. Tata seems like they have extensive experience with manufacturing and the like, so I'm sure they have significant resources and knowledge to go to now.
