My Prestige-trim XE is camera shy, so no photos. But it’s British Racing Green, and in my opinion needs to be kept super clean in order to get the full effect of how the color changes in the changing light.
Once every six months I take the contaminants off the paint, mirrors, windscreens and moonroof glass with a clay bar and Griot’s Speed Shine, use a really old citrus-based cleaner to strip the residue off leeboards and aluminum wheels. Then once dry, I seal the paint with Nufinish polish, apply Mother’s Plastic Polish to the door mirror covers, plastic pillar trims, Blade-antenna Pitot, and headlamp lenses. A fine glass polish is used on the moonroof glass.
The entire process is done over a two day period, take my time, no rushing to break any schedules.
That was my activity this weekend… Shined so glossy, I thought Morpheus, Trinity and Neo were gonna use it in their next Matrix movie.
Drove about 20 minutes into my commute this morning---and got splashed by filthy water pouring down from some construction work on an overpass:|,… had a robin try to BOMB me with what comes out his back end

(yeah, the worm he ate must have had Exlax in it).
And all this week will be on and off showers in NY.
:crying:Not the glorious rain that turns into a thousand sparkling jewels on freshly-treated paint. But the kind of smog-blown rain that just leaves grey spots all over your car.
